More photos of Ukey Dukey! plus terrific Jacket Artwork!!
Hey take a look at this!
That is terrific! Photo thanks to Dottie
We would like to know who was the owner and presumably wearer of
this Jacket. The decorated Leather Jackets were a common feature of
many of the 'tribe', unique examples of 'street artwork' with poignent
statement. The 'OMM' in the bottom right hand corner probably stands
for the 'Oxford Mental Mob' a notorius tribal element from the University
town, that followed 'Ukey Dukey' all over!
It was only after a few minutes of looking at this photo that I realised
the skull profile is from the 'For Madmen Only' album artwork, skull
motif, its a really great impression and a lot of work must have gone
into this. The artist would have worn this jacket with pride!
Many thanks to 'Dottie' for forwarding this excellent photo.
Also in Dottie's collection that is now posted in the gallery are a handfull
of photos from we think the 'Roadmenders/runners'?? (Northampton
UK)taken in 1981? we think.....
and this one.....
Hey Steve!.....

Many thanks again to Dottie and to all that have in the past contributed
to the cosmic collective archives of 'Ukey Dukey' Communities.

The owner of said jacket was/is P'nut, (whereabouts unknown), obviously from Oxford. I have another photo of him with a tattoo of the skull with ' For Madmen Only' on his head. Will send ASAP

Yes there were a few of those 'For My Country' ones! The best I saw was
'For Madmen Only' in all it's complexity replicated on someones jacket
In London 1983 I think!

No P'nut was/is a white bloke. You're thinking of mik & jeff the mental twins who are still mental........they do security for the libertines.
No messing!!

Yes of course!
Mik had 'UK Decay' tattood on his inner bottom lip
as well as the 'For Madmen Skull' on the side of his head!
They were notorious even among the 'OMM'
They can be seen on the "UK Decay at Luton Carnival" video
in the thick of the what we today now know as the 'Mosh Pit' at
the front of the stage and then later being (mistakenly) arrested by
the Plod.
How could we ever forget.
So they are still involved with music and bands!
Much respect to them.
Would love to see a picture of them as they are today complete
(if they still have them) with their tattoos!
And of course 'Peanut', in fact has anyone any pics of the tribe known
as the 'Oxford Mental Mob' or any of the crew?
Nice one dottie! what about a pic of yourself as you were then?
W.W.

I have some photos from Bonn Square, Oxford. This used to be the meeting place for not just local punks, skinheads, winos but also punks (especially girls) from Bedford, Norhampton and various other towns in and around Oxon
Bonn Sq. became a bit of a mecca in the early 80's. Will forward photos to W/W for perusal and he can decide which ones to put on site.
