in a previous topic there was some discussion about simon reynolds book "rip it up and start again" (which i thought was excellent). ukdk got a couple of mentions in passing , but the idea of it is mainly to look at the post-punk scene rather than "gothic-type" acts.

anyway , he's obviously got some time on his hands as he's written a 58-page postscript on all the bits he missed where i guess people pointed out he should've said more. this is downloadable for free at ;

ukdk get a whole paragraph now , i'd paste it in but its a pdf file so it won't let me and you'll have to go look for yourselves (it's on page 3Cool. he compares the sound to 2nd album banshees , says they were good live but thinks the album is "thinly produced". well , i suppose compared to big budget acts like the banshees/cure/sisters he has some sort of point but to me "madmen" stands up really well as a record of that time.

i think its nice to see uk decay included in "post punk" (like they were also on that rough trade compilation) , they deserve to be remembered. p
