				| I used to love the really early DMR (There, There, My Dear & Searching For The Young Soul Rebels etc, but was never fussed about Bad Manners)
But you must also remember the old adage - You can't please everybody all the time!

Failing that, you'll just have to go to the loo when they come on!

				| Whose bloody idea was it to start the cider festival on the same night as Thursday Fury? Jesus my head hurts today, not to mention my poor ole stomach! Oh well, ‘spect I’ll be going again tonight to try some more!
 The night in question.

Suffering from the usual first night nerves, we had a few problems setting up the rig, with experiencing the dreaded “no sound” only to find that we’d plugged in the outputs into the inputs! Plus my mixer doesn’t seem to like utilising the master outputs; once again, having to go via the “zone” outputs!

Over the last two weeks I’d really pulled out all the stops on advertising for this night, but what with the local press fucking up at every stage, things didn’t really go as plan.

Based solely upon the great vibes from Januarys UK Decay night, I considered another night of punk and new wave the way to go, with the intention of catering mainly for the over 40’s. Unfortunately, I think the “pipe and slippers syndrome” may have got the better of most, with only my good friends, whom without their loyal support, I would have been playing to the eleven people we had for the first hour.

I really did expect The Blackhorse to be jumping from the start, but alas, it was not to be. In fact, the night was very reminiscent of my previous Thursday Fury nights, with the usual 10 o’clock rush™, but with this time, left only a hour left to play!

So anyway, thanks very much to those that did made the effort, especially Alex and Essie for helping me drag my kit home, and off course to DJ Rob for lending me his equipment in the first place.

Amazingly enough, we managed to “beat the spread”, and have been asked back again next month for another go. Thursday 5th April, in which I’ll be resorting back to my usual eclectic mix of goth, punk, rock, new wave and 80’s.
