More Statics pics from Al Husseys collection!
Duplicated in 'Gallery News'
Way back in January Al Hussey sent in a batch of photos of the Statics
from his collection after a request from someone for a picture of the Statics
that included sax player Mark Cottle. At the time we posted up a few of
Alans collection with a promise of more to follow. Well the January UKDK-
Com event took over all our energies for the remainder of January with
the fall-out -come down -whatever, taking over much of febuary.
(Actually the event picture gallery kinda took over really!)
Anyway, whilst going through recent traumas (Computer HELL actually!)
here at Aldwyck Towers over the last few days, I stumbled accross Al's
folder containing the unposted Statics pics. So to get the ball rolling
again (it has been a bit quete here of late!) here is another installment.
Al Hussey and UK Decay Communities are proud to present
another five pics of the Statics

Correct me if i'm wrong Al, but that wallpaper, isn't that The Kingsway Arms in Dunstable ? Of course back then such stylish, attractive interior decoration was rife but it looks familiar....J x. |

Correct for 10 points Jay, It is indeed the Kingsway Tavern and I seem to recall that it was a gig in support of CND. That wall paper certainly does your head in! Check out Roger's Night Movies flick for a virtual tour of the gig. |

Another starter for ten. Can't disagree with the Kingsway being the venue but where the hell was Royalty Nitespot (on the poster behind Lol)? Can't remember one in Luton or surrounding area. _________________ NO GDM |

Royalty Nitespot
The Kingsway Tavern is situated in Kingsway Road luton, about
a mile from the town centre. It is still open today and even the
odd live gig is still to be found there. Although the venue has
always stuggled to populate their gigs. It's probablly still got that
same wallpaper!
The Royalty Nitespot as mentioned by slickog is probablly a
ballroom in Southgate, North London. The Royalty seems to have
specialised in Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and Boxing matches in
the late 70's.
It is only a vague guess based on a google here
It seems Bill Haley played there in 1979 and seems to makes
sense given the nature of the acts on the poster behind Lol
The Kingsway is missing from the 'Luton Punk venues' thread, we
shall get this put right asap!
