Werewolf note: Jan 6th 2008

To get the ball rolling, this topic has been copied from the 'News' forum.

Many will remember Hot Wired from last January's re-union, hailing
from Norwich the band will be revisiting the Hat factory on Thursday
January 10th 2008
. So here is a chance to catch them again!
They will be appearing alongside Luton's very own Rogue, Pirate Radio
and The Kindred
, an evening that promises a Punky flavour!
At a measly £4.00 this event is incredible value for money, see you there!

first PDM hat factory gig of the year and we've got Hotwired back along with three Luton punk and alternative bands.

Print the flier off to get in for just £3.

Thanks

Paul

Great gig wih all the bands trying their best to out-punk each other. Especially after pirate radio got the ball rolling with their usual athletic performance. tonite they had competition in the punk stakes and they new it. They need to be less modest vocally without screeming that is, shame they aint a bit more brave lyrically, they would be onto something special if they could tighten down this side of their act. Still they set a really hard act to follow, but then rogue came on.,
Due to some kind of unfortunate soap opera situation, this turned out to be the last performance of rogue with this line up. their kik arse and contentious gig with the specials last year, which was a real head turning moment until matts amp blew. kenny the punk rock drummer can really be in six places at once and singer rosie has the venom of a siouxse dragon and matt a mouth to match. this band were onto something. chris the baSSplayer renegade from a seventies hippy mushroom festival and the bank accountant fatbloke
at the other end a really most unlikely situation to have onstage, but hey it was dam compelling and punk it was. maybe they were on to something, we shall never know as chris the bassplayer has left and rogue are going to have a rest. omg why do bands always split just as they..
rogue had upped the stakes even further, kindred who are known to play an upbeat kinda metal punk situated somewhere midst hitchin and seatle, had to work harder than ever tonite at being punk, the tightness and bombasity of their usuall aproach drifted through thrash and nearly got to punk. they visibly i mean if you could shut your eyes and imagine a joe strummer or johnny rotten someone with a real message, you get what i mean, they could really get somewhere. but thats the point, originally punk was not about what kind of gear or playing ability someone had, it was about the spirit and the message. all credit to kindred though because they might just one day pull the rabit out of the hat.
hot wired they were very lapsidaiseycall for a punk band, but looks, the singer must be a model for a new jersey punk and pschobilly magazine. like renegades from a dire punk tribute band, they are a sherade of themselves but that can be whats good about them. last time they played in luton, their set was dominated by an ongoing argument actually it was a slanging match during their set it was actually so funny to watch. this time that didnt happen, the singer guitarist instead belted out some pretty hot duane eddy style licks between songs its just a shame the lyrics were so mundane. like listening to beethoven in one ear and derek and clive in the other i guess they were influenced by the ramones and cyril higgingbotom. they put in a reasonable show but the earlier acts were hard to follow
the cheeky band from essex that blagged their way onto the ultimate spot were up against a punk rollercoaster tonight, without knowing their set it was somehow obvious that they were playing everything more punky than usuall but they went for the cure aproach and nearly got it right. they were very inthusiastic and tonight after promising pirate radio a gig in essex they departed with a smile on their faces.

overalll good night for punk in luton with the adenoids launching their first single soon and punk/rave swank in the audiance for a change that was good to see. some great moments
