Can't see this topic anywhere else yet...

Ages ago I requested that Marc play a UK Decay session as part of his weekly 'Peel By Behest' slot. I didn't hear back from him, so thought he wouldn't, but this week he is doing so!

Last night he played 'Sexual', so hopefully he will be playing the rest of the band's 1980 session over the course of the week. It's available on iplayer if you can't catch it live.

Tom

Very Happy

It was played in the last half hour.

Interestingly the sound is alot more muted than the version on the 'Death So Fatal' CD, but I'm sure the high end can be boosted without any loss of quality, and it'll be great to get good clean versions of the rest of the tracks from this first session.

i had always thought a digital radio broadcast would be brilliant quality but someone told me it isn't actually that great , still i'm guessing it will be better than copies of some of those tracks i've got. DSF was sourced from old cassette tapes made back in the day so its probably not the "ultimate version" but the best available at that point.....

For My Country was played about 30mins into the programme last night and very good quality it was too. No idea why Sexual was so dull sounding.

I've also heard it said that digital radio quality isn't very good, but it sounds fantastic to me compared with the old tapes of FM recordings I made back in the day!

At the start of Thursday's show Marc said he'd play the last track from the session, but then he didn't! I've emailed him to see if he might find the time to slip it into one of this week's shows.

I've noticed that often BBC6 repeats sessions, so maybe Chris Hawkins will play the whole session on the 'Live at 4' or 'The Live Hour' (whatever it is called now).

Maybe of lots of people email in and ask him then he will!
