Re. turkish Delight..WoW!
Hi Paul...This one has really got us here! We have absolutelly no memory of this project whatsoever!
It is plausible but not memorable! True after 'IN Excelsis', Spon worked with numerous projects with various local Bands and individuals in his new role in music production. He thinks there is some confussion possiblly with another project, namelly 'World Circus' in which he breiflly re-united with Gaynor (Sno-White from Pneumania) and Rick Kemp ( from 'the Jets', Lutons first punk band) After that was the 'Anti- Nirex' thing
Later on Spon worked with the 'Click Click' guys from the mid to the late 80's, playing guitar on 'Food' by 'Click Click' and in the production of 'Click Click's' enourmously popular 'Bent Massive' album which came out in 1989
After that in 1990 he teamed up with Derek Smith from 'Click Click' and Graham Stronch (Corpeallia and Click Click) to form 'Poppy Head' later to be known as 'The Big Eye'
After that Spon re-incarnated into 'Nostramus' in the late 90's and is still releasing music to this day!

well thanks for that , fills in a few gaps. i'd never realised graham stronach was in corpaelia , who i saw twice and thought were superb. never understood why they never went further , i guess maybe graham quit for click click and that explains things.
corpaelia were a bit along the lines of danse society , but not so slick. i saw a superb gig with click click at the luton library theatre (what a classic venue , anyone else remember it?). they do 2 tracks on the nirex tape , but i thought these were a bit laid back compared to the live show.
i got the big eye lp (very good and well worth checking out) but havn't heard nostramus. has anytihng official been released?
cheers , p |

Wow - Turkish Delight! If my memory serves me well, it was me on Drums, Eric Roberts on Guitar, Lol (Lorraine Turvey) on Keyboards/Vocals, Dave Hannah on Keyboards and Stuart (can't remember his surname sorry Stuart - from 33) on Bass.
We did play at the Luton Carnival (19??), and I still have few pictures of the gig somewhere.
Can't remember the whole set (I bet Lol can!); but I do remember that we played a Doors track - This is the End?
If we did any more gigs, I can't remember any of them; so nothing new there then!

It was basically a reincarnation of The Statics, wrapped up in Turkish Delight wrappers, that we managed to get on a large roll from Frys.
I'll see if I can post some pics from the carnival.

Well glad that one is sorted out!!
And welcome 'dennis' to the forum! its really great to see you here!
To post up pics here, they either already have to exist somewhere on the internet ( Use the adrress and then highlight it, in the 'writepost box'. when the address is 'highlighted' you click the 'IMG' tag..click 'preview' to check!)
Or you post it on your own webspace remembering the 'address', failing that pop it into an e-mail addressed to
werewolf@ukdecay.co.uk
dont forget to mention what you want!
sorry dennis, still no word from Lorriane, if she gets in touch we shall all know at once I will certainlly point her in your direction!
