Summer Solstice Monday june 21st
Very Happy Very Happy

Quote:
The longest day is called the summer solstice, and occurred this year on 21 June. On this day the sun was overhead at its nearest point to the UK, above the Tropic of Cancer.

Here we are again aproaching the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere!
On That Day in the UK depending where you are, these times are for Luton uk.
Sunrise...4:36 AM BST
Sunset....9:26 PM BST

A turning point in the year, the nightimes get longer from this day.
Its a good time of the year for those of a 'Celtic' leaning to be near the Stones laid by their ancestors
Revisiting Britain's biggest free festival

Happy Solstice! Very Happy Laughing Twisted Evil

Once in a 'Blue Moon'

This saturday, 31st July 2004, heralds a rare occurrance!
A 'Blue Moon'

A Blue Moon is where you get two Full moons within one month,
the second of which is known as a 'Blue Moon'

So will things happen on that day that only occurr 'Once in a Blue moon'?

Also this Saturday sees the start of the "Mid-Summer/First Harvest/Lammas
--Festival of thanksgiving for the first of the grain harvest; celebrated by
offering the first fruits of the grain harvest and prayers for sustenance for all."

Sat 31st July to Sunday August 8th

It must be seen as significant that this Saturdays 'Blue Moon' should
herald this Summers 'Lammas'

So expecting!
