Spam 'PM's'!

TO ALL MEMBERS!!!

It has been brought to our attention that somebody may have been using
the PM (Private Message) system on this board, in order to propergate
spam messages to other members!

This is a potentially serious matter and if we find out who is doing this,
their membership will be deleted straight away!

We would urge anybody that receives any 'spam' PM message, to report
it to us right away. Any such message should be found in your Inbox, once
signed in. Quick link to INBOX If you do have any dodgy messages please look
to see who its from and send in their membership names.
That is the only way of putting a stop to their activities.

These spammers will be wise enough NOT to send PM's to any of the
moderators, because that would give the game away. But if this is going
on 'behind our backs', we will never know about it unless someone
speaks up about it!
So if you receive PM spam messages please let us know.

The bad thing about it for UK Decay Communities and particullarly
myself 'Werewolf', is that folk will receive an email to their regullar
account, looking like it was sent by 'Werewolf'!
This is just the way the system works, any PM message, in good intent,
or SPAM, will have 'sent by' Werewolf, in the header. This is an automated
system.

I can assure you all that if you have received any such dubious message,
that it has NOT been sent by myself or any of the moderators on behalf
of UK Decay Communities.
We like most folk, HATE SPAM!!

I can also assure our members that we CAN NOT access peoples
private messages, the security of the BB Forum software strictly
dissallows this, even to the administrators!

If this is really happening, we need to stamp it out!
