Ritual out on CD soon?

Rumour has it that a New York label has some unrecorded Ritual
material and are looking at obtaining permission to release it.

The only problem is that they need the permission from the band members
before they can go ahead. If any members of the band read this or anyone
who knows how to get in touch with any ex Ritual members, please point
them in our direction and we will then put them in touch with the NY label.

werewolf@ukdecay.co.uk

Fingers crossed!!

if you look on this site they've kindly posted both ritual singles up for downloading

http://www.killyourpetpuppy.co.uk/news/?cat=10

if you search for it , there is also the whole of the "dead kings" tape archived , together with it's artwork (which i'd never seen before). nice one.

still no sign of that peel session though , but there seem to be a few people sniffing around pondering a cd-reissue in one form or another. be nice to see that happen , this stuff deserves to be heard.

Ritual - Songs For A Dead King: part studio, part live. contains most of Ritual's best recordings. Posters are right about their 2 singles, but the tape was the business.
Errol Blyth - vox
Mark Bond - bass
Jamie Stewart - guitar
Ray Mondo - drums
Steve Pankhurst - sax

These guys played with all the budding 'goth' types - UK DK, Sex Gang, etc as well as with lots of punkier bands - Rubella Ballet, Brigandage etc. They also used to gig a lot in Harrow (their base) with Malice and Sunglasses After Dark. They supported UK DK at the Hammersmith Clarendon on one of those fateful New Year gigs at the end of the story.

Mark and Errol came to the first gig of my band the night they had agreed to finish Ritual. They were so cool they didnt mention it until the next day as they knew we were all inspired by Ritual. If you ever read this guys, I never forgot that!

The demo tape mentioned on Deathrock.com is unfortunately just the 1st side of the tape of the 'lost' LP "Song for a dead king".

How do I know? Because I sent the info to Deatrock based on the assumption the tape I had was a demo. at the time I had no idea there was a LP on tape anywhere.

The tracklisting is different because I was guessing at the the titles based on the choruses of the songs and getting them wrong.

The "Songs for a Dead King" tape is available at:
http://www.killyourpetpuppy.co.uk/news/?p=100
and very good it is too...

Anyone got any ideas where I can find the Peel Session?

i've been trying to track this peel session down for years now , and no luck at all. i guess maybe the best bet is the band themselves , but none of them seem to have broken cover in recent times.

similarly nothing seemed to come of this plan to issue a cd ; anyone know if that plan is still going on?
