sorry but i'm not much help here , had a look through all my old cuttings and can't find much mention of IE gigs at all. i just have one handbill for a gig on 9th may (84?) at "dumbos" , pink elephant luton. so was that by caesar's?
i seem to recall a couple of south coast gigs (hastings?) and also a jungle records night with people like rubella ballet (was that heaven?). but i was in birmingham by then and couldn't get to any of them , only one i saw was the dunstable one.

I saw In Excelsis at 33 Guildford Street, Luton, on 11/11/83. This seems to be the only time I ever saw them ! (This was after seeing Furyo- with The Orson Family- at The Marquee, Wardour Street, on 01/09/03 and then Furyo- with The Challenge- at the Library Theatre, Luton, on 26/10/83). I certainly didn't go to every gig of UK Decay and subsequent groups, so don't expect me to fill in any gaps- sorry. But I have a list of all the gigs I have been to- bands, venue, date. Such as Furyo at The Tropicana Beach, Luton - doing something for the BBC at this naff nightclub, on 02/10/84. And R E M at The Queensway Hall on 29/11/84. But I digress).
Yes, The Pink Elephant was next to Ceasars Palace- as was. |

In Excelsis, Twisted Nerve & Tantra. Bowes Lyon House in Stevenage on 15 April 1984. Its amazing what a leaking shed means you find when rehousing its contents. A load of diaries with odd entries...
30 Jan 1983 Steve Harle played drums in Stevenage with Sex Gang Children. See what I mean about useless information!! |

ok , took me a long time to get round to it but by collecting all the information on the site so far the list of InX gigs looks like as follows ;
luton 33 club 11.11.83
luton unigate club 2.12.83
wealdstone 10.12.83
st albans 1.84 (one track released on "state of affairs" tape)
dunstable queensway 11.3.84
stevenage 15.4.84
manchester "cloud 9" 3.5.84
luton pink elephant 9.5.84
london clarendon 12.5.84
london moonlight club 17.5.84
london heaven 18.6.84 (one track released on "in goth daze" DVD)
colne franks (final gig , late 84 , 2 tracks on "prey" LP)
apart from that lot the only other gigs anyone referred to is one in paris , plus maybe a couple of gigs on the south coast (hastings?) anyone got the dates?
so that's 13 gigs. sure this isn't a complete list but i thought i'd collect it up "for the record" like i'd done on the furyo one. all corrections gratefully recieved.

Fairly sure I was at most of those gigs... the Unigate club was surreal!
As was the Pink Elephant... Gig in Paris was in December between Xmas and new year... I hardly slept for 4/5 days and when we got back it was new years eve. I vaguely remeber a warehouse party somewhere near Guilford street...
I think it was '83. |
