Hi This is your friendly neighbourhood Werewolf here
As he sits here clattering his claws
Impatiently over the PC keyboard
"Its oh so quite and lonely here tonight"
as the old werewolf pondered what
could have been,. "they have all pissed
off to Glastonbury and left me holding
the fort" the werewolf muttered to an
invisible audience, this Werewolf feels
more like Cinderella!
Ah well!
If he had have gone, he would only
Have been tempted!!
Twisted Evil Laughing
"Its not like it used to be"
Anyway here is a quick poll ..to be taken off after 7 days!{NOW COMPLETED-see 'reply' below}
What do you think? Question

I would say I'm indifferent to Glastonbury so I'll abstain, seeing as I couldn't go even if I wonted to. Well, not without spending a lot of money on airfares and conquering my fear of flying Wink

Gone are the free fessies!

Yes well if you wanted to go it would cost an arm and a leg to do it! or a set of wings to get over the fence..
And to see what, Paul Mc Cartney doing old 'Beatles' and 'Wings' songs!

I did see an interesting aid to ladies there this year tho, it was a 'ladies stand and widdle' kit! Rolling Eyes Laughing
Anything that helps their predicament I suppose has got to be a good thing.
Its much too commercialised for the werewolfs liking ..massive Buck earner!!
Perhaps I am being a little unfair tho
For tens of thousands, Glastonbury is their annual holliday
So Enjoy

nostramus were at Glastonbury
Well actually 'Nostramus' according to 'Melody Maker' were seen
'Dancing in the mud' at Glastonbury sometime in the late 90's
written in the rags 'gossip' collumn, totall Bullshit!!. there is a
cutting of it somewhere which was on the Nostramus website.

Probablly a yarn spun by 'Recordings of Substance' which at the
time was Nostramus's record label.

Yes the 3 Exodus 'Free the Spirit' fessies, were what 'The true Festival Spirit' should really be about. an example of what can be possible when people unite! Considering the financial expenditure of putting a commercial festival on, it was simply amazing to see an ordinary bunch
of people from a 'bored' 'riot-torn' housing estate in north Luton. organising 'Free Festivals' of such magnitudes! (believe me folks there was no £120.00 entrance fee- a donations bucket at the door-with no minimum fee and 'Price-Police' to keep the stall prices at as cheep as possible) the 3rd fezzie which was actually sanctioned by the Duke of Bedford!

The rich variety of both Dance music DJ's and Live Music was outstanding! as well as the neccesary Festival practical logistics.

Nostramus played 3 years on the run and had tapped into the same 'subcurrent' that 'UK Decay' had done so 20 years earlier!-the atmosphere was terrific!

The great almost untold stories of these 'Legendary' events should go down in the history of the Festival culture with the respect they deserve!

If it took 20 years for UK Decay to get their act together, to explain their own 'demise'. Knowing a thing or two about the special qualities (both positive and negative) of being a 'Lutonian', then it will probablly be a similar amount of time before we hear the 'Low-down' on theses great Festivals!
'Free the Spirit' rest in peace!

Glastonbury Poll results

'Love it to death' = 0 votes
'Hate it to Hell' = 4 votes
'Its not like it used to be' = 3 votes

These are the results after a Month and it seems that our 'voters'
have given the 'great' Glastonbury festival, the thumbs down!
Words like
Quote:
"stuck in a wet field being subjected to wings greatest hits....torture Sad last year it was rod stewart. is radio 2 booking the bands these days?"

really sum up how commercially oreintated 'Glaso' has become these days.
With the emphasis on 'safety' and comforming to the stringent licensing
rules and regulations, everything is bracketed into nice 'safe' cosy
niches. There is little or nothing 'daring', dangerous or pioneering left in
the original spirit of the festival, it has become a 'charade' of its former self!.
So there you go!
Agree!......or Disagree??
Post your thoughts here!
