UK Decay in Decadance
at Drop Dead, Lisbon!
UK Decay recently returned from the epic Drop Dead Festival in Lisbon
Portugal after another triumphal performance. It was only their
second full performance in twenty-six years and their first outside the UK.
The Drop Dead festival is the largest Deathrock festival in the world, held
both in the USA and in Europe This year was it’s sixth and sadly according
to the organizers, the last.
Decay took the stage at 4am on Sunday 12th October and played for
about an hour. The first couple of songs were dogged by sound problems
but by about the third song the sound improved. The band settled down
and then the performance then went from strength to strength, rattling
their way through many of the favourites. Decay were rapturously
received by the audience; many of whom never imagined they would ever
get to see UK Decay live!
Decay and particularly Abbo, put in a youthful energetic performance,
surprising many as they were called back for encore after encore. The
songs included
Unwind , Jerusalem, Rising from the Dead, Black Cat, Decadance, Last In
The House, Testament, Stagestruck, Barbarian, Sexual, Unexpected
Guest, Werewolf and For My Country.
Just like the old days they when they would replay songs in their encores,
they replayed Sexual and Testament again to the audience delight.
It was a top Night of Celebration!

Clip thanks to Bone
Bone has more footage from his on-stage camera video but it needs
editing before uploading. (can anyone help here?) In all he captured
about 35 mins of the hour long set, he didn’t film the rest because he
couldn’t resist the urge to join the mosh!
