UK Decay Update

UK Decay’s last gig of this year will take place on Saturday 12 December 2009 at the Sumo Club in Leicester, with special guests Click Click and UK DK Community cohorts Los Cyclones. The band are on stage from approximately 10.30pm and will be playing a set in excess of one hour and ten minutes.

‘We’ve expanded significantly on what we played at last year’s gig in Luton,’ says Spon. ‘There’s a number of additional tracks from Madmen in the set now, plus some material from pretty much when the band began. Also, while I can’t promise anything yet, we are also hoping to debut some new material – the band’s first for 27 years!’

The gig is being arranged by two of the original Luton punk scene’s most recognisable members: Blink and Anee – who were both members of Screaming Blue Murder and other notable acts.

Gigs for next year are already being arranged, with dates in London, Luton and a German tour in the process of being confirmed.

Decay are also now actively writing material for a new album which is tentatively scheduled for release in 2010.

‘The first pressing of For Madmen Only on CD sold out within months and we’re now on the second,’ said Spon. ‘We’ve already got some very rough recordings of two new unfinished songs and I’ve got loads of bits and pieces of guitar ideas that we’re working on. We’re looking to have a new studio album ready for the gigs next year and there’s even plans of recording a live album before that.’........
