it brings it all back.like buying a secondhand copy of feeding of the 5ooo by crass from tony's store in the arcade, bury park.
wanting to go to the crass gig at marsh farm but for some reason not going.
what about the marsh farm festivals? uk dk,atilla the stockbroker, phallic symbols...
the luton carnival gigs at the flyover...
chumbawumba etc at luton library theatre..
furyo at st albans city hall...
dirt, furyo, chronic outbursts ets at bossard hall, leighton buzzard..
there were gigs everywhere....unigate club,33 arts centre,charlie browns,the blockers,switch,5'0 club..tech college
matrix the shop in john st.i remember making my own ukdk tshirt and wearing it down town on a saturday, the space invader machine,
the squat where the phallic symbols lived in bury park
peoples houses in clarendon rd
still got all the ukdk records and furyo,in excelsias and click click
and a statics tape which i accidentally recorded over some of the tracks
was it the blitz club at the hatters that derek from click click ran?
fear of the bedford skinheads as they hated the luton punx. |

Welcome Reno you have brought up quite a few events there!
You remembered the space invader machine! many an hour spent
by more than a few folk on that!
Ahh those 'Halycon Days' inna Luton
Looking back on it all, it did seem in retrospect that there was a lot more
going on back then than there is now!
But even back then, we all moaned that there wasnt enough places to play
and that nothing ever happened in the town!
Mind you there is Still a DIY ethic in town!
The style of the 'subculture' may have changed a bit , Take a look at:-
Kacchina
or
Level-one
and I Know there is a lot more going on in the town that we dont get
to hear about!
One thing I learnt about living in this town, is that it is full of suprises
most of them maybe unpleasant but now and then there are some really
positive ones!
Are you still D'J ing/ promoting??
