Passchendale and The Party Girls
Passchendale 1982- 1984 Now, think the line-up was thus:-
Phill Keefe bass guitar
Johnny G Guitar
Pat Keating Keyboards
Darren ? Drums
But we cant remember who the vocalist was...anyone out there know?
playing 3 or 4 gigs with IN Excelsis including a spectacular Luton
excursion to Paris in late 1983! Whereby the 2 two luton bands were
the toast of that fair city, playing to a packed audience in a parisian
theatre.
The gig was arranged for In Excelsis but Passchendale insisted on
coming along for the ride, well actually the entire band hitch hiked
complete with entourage and equipment from Luton to Paris!
With the funky basslines, tribal drumming, spiraling synths and
spanning' guitar I guess some might say they sounded like a cross
between Killing Joke and UK Decay.
Finishing late 84 ish the band had made some really good demos
but nothing as far as we know officially released.
Party Girls 1985-late 80's
Pete (Paris) Payne Voice
Johnny G guitar
Dan the Man bass guitar
Baby Ray Philpot drums
In some ways the natural successor's to Passchendale although only
retaining Johnny G on guitar
A lot of promise in this band made a couple of cracking demos and
produced two tracks for the 'Anti Nirex tape:-
Party Girls-Believe in me
Party Girls-DreamHasEnded

Both of these bands had sizeable followings and apart from the fact that
Johhny G now works in a guitar shop and is still playing, it is not known
what became of the other members.

Thanks Blink!
We spent the whole weekend trying to remember who was the vocalist!
Now we have a picture
Wonder what Nick is up to today?
Also 'Tibor' a close freind and Roadie what became of him?
We know Pat Keating and his sister Donna, ( along with a good many
Luton punks!) moved to the Republick of Ireland in the mid 80's.
Also what became of Darren the drummer?
anyone?

Nick - blinding geezer, last time I saw him was at carnival time where he helped me get exceedingly drunk. Haven't seen him for time though. |

Shit. Now there is a name I thought I would never hear again -
Passchendale. I drove the car - ChuggaBoom - many times for them. Remember going to a gig in Romford & Smiffy skinning up while driving on the M25....and getting pulled by plod in Guildford Street for having a dodgy brake light.
Anyone remeber the gig at The Pink Elephant??
Nick Tattoo - is he still around? I remember he got stabbed in the chest in St Albans after a Damned gig.
Shit - I feel old.........

I remember seeing Party Girls at the Library Theatre, not sure exactly what year though. The lights outside on the night of the gig were rearranged to read the Girly Prats - don't know if anyone ever owned up! |
