Twin Cheeky Chaps!

Geronimo Jeff meets Charlie Chaplin in one
of his "Time-Warps"

Ha Ha! Frank handed me this rare picture of 'Geronimo Jeff ' taken
sometime in the twentieth century!?? Apparently on the exact
location of the old Grand Theatre, which is now, party under the Arndale
Centre, in Luton.
The Legendary Charlie Chaplain appeared at the Theatre in the
twenties and the shot was taken to publicise Geronimo Jeff’s
Time Machine project. Charlie (pictured on the right-Doh!) was played
by local character Ray Levine who is still to be seen wandering through
the town centre, complete with his 'end of the world-survival kit'

Many will remember Geronimo Jeff who passed away in 1999.
. He was a maverick and colourful figure in the Luton Punk
scene in the late70's and early80's, often accompanying UK Decay
in their early days, as they toured round Britain.

Partial to dressing up on occasion as seen here, another time, he
(For a special surprise!) Hired out a full-on ‘Cavalier’ outfit from
a Fancy Dress shop for a ‘Decay’ gig (the Roadmenders, Northampton)
And much to Abbo’s dismay ran amok in mid performance!
He was chased round and round by the crew and Punks everyone,
even most of the band were in hysterics! That was so funny
(Anyone else remember this?)

The exploits of the late Geronimo Jeff are crying out to be written
down, He was UK Decay’s very own resident ‘Mad Scientist’
Often contributing to ‘The Suss’ magazine and later on, he
Produced and engineered, at the Barbers Lane recording Studio
many Punk and Reggae artists in the early 80’s
Sadly missed
Geronimo Jeff RIP

On the subject of Ghosts and the Grand theatre
