why do you hate us americans so much?
ukdecay toured theU.S. at least once.
and you had an american bassist.
you are so racist against your cousins. even if you all hate our preident bush, does that give you the right to dis our country off so frequently?
why don't you talk bad about the germans for what their fathers did to the jews?
sorry, i guess you think all jews are zionist pig occupiers of the arab holy land.
sorry, i gues you all believe in the "protocols of zion" as well
you are a bunch of ill-informed specious racists, i guess.
welcome to the rest of the world.
will you start displaying photos of burning american flags and running clips of ireanian clerics chanting death to america the great satan?
why don't you euro wimps step out of the closet and tell us how much you really hate us.
then perhaps we can scrap nato and let you sink into the penile servitude that is planned for "europistan"
l

Excuse me, the ‘paranoia detectors’ are bleeping somewhat here!
Where exactly does hate come into this?
First We are very careful to omit any ‘racist’ comments from any of these
forums
Secondly, ukdecay did tour the US and did have an american bassist for
a time, in the time they were there they were treated like ‘royalty’ by
their hosts . They travelled the length and breadth of the west coast and
gasped at the beauty and wonder of that great country. Abbo lived there
for a number of years and still travels there frequently; Ed ‘twiggy’ Branch
went on to do numerous tours there with Pete Murphy. It is absolute
nonsense to suggest ‘uk decay’ hate the USA!

It is true that in a sense it was almost ‘fashionable’ back in the days of
the punk movement for us and uk punk bands to ‘dis’ the icons and
leaders of the USA (as well as anyone in any position of authority
including our own (uk) and other european leaders- that was punk!) All
our leaders need to be constantly challenged and brought to account.

People are People, good and bad wherever you are, it is too easy to
generalise and write of a whole nation because of some noisy ‘fanaticals’,
anyone with an ounce of sense will realise that.

Peace & Love 'Bro' Rolling Eyes Laughing

btw: you posted from a luton (NTL) address !
an american living in luton, UK!

should we meet up for a drink?

Why a suprise that Americans live in Luton?
I work in aviation.
This is the modern world.
Luton seems to be full of people from somewhere other than Luton.
Get out a little bit.
The above was in direct reply to your "dig" at U<S< on "clophill".
That village is close to where I had friends working some years ago.
I still think you find it too easy to "dis the Yanks"
Thanks for the offer, NTL covers vast area of UK from Luton HQ.
They also cover my home town. Smile

Hey,
I used to live in America, and there are some huge cultural differences, and one of them is the sense of humour. I think we have a tendencey to get cultural issues mixed up with personal issues. We don't hate America, it has just had some really dodgy political dealings. I loved living in the states! I think it's a great country with wonderful emotional positivity.
One Love, Peace to all,
Dharma Sister xx

LAMENT! for Diocletian's fiery sword
Works busy as the lightning; but instinct
With malice ne'er to deadliest weapon linked
Which God's ethereal store-houses afford:
Against the Followers of the incarnate Lord
It rages; some are smitten in the field--
Some pierced to the heart through the ineffectual shield
Of sacred home;--with pomp are others gored
And dreadful respite. Thus was Alban tried,
England's first Martyr, whom no threats could shake;
Self-offered victim, for his friend he died,
And for the faith; nor shall his name forsake
That Hill, whose flowery platform seems to rise
By Nature decked for holiest sacrifice.
so lady with the forked word your positive apperent
to thee is obsurred. for we all know your true intent for your self love the true intent.

St Albans is ten miles south of Luton, steeped in History
and one of Ynys Prydens (the ancient name for Britain)
premier cities...Verulanium
Also in the chaotic times of the Saxons in the 'DarkAges'
very significant...the home of some very important Saxon
kings...not least King Offa...who's actuall palace was at Offley
(midway between Luton & Hitchin) but he spent a lot of time
building the Abbey at St. Albans.
At that sort of time in history there was no TV or greed infested
commerciality..or rather I should say the Church was the focal
point of peoples and communities..This supposed 'higher function'
led to the usual human trait of 'competition' whereby differing
communities would often compete to achieve a higher 'purpose' and
gain 'brownie points' over each other...often with outrageous claims
of succulence in saintley matters.
The 'Dark' & 'Middle Ages' were 'rife' with claims of 'mystic' visions
and communities were 'falling over each other' to gain some 'relic of
importance' that may giain them importance and more to the point,
livelyhood and wealth.
Religion is more to do with the Psychology of the mind and tribal
interaction...If you were to take away TV the WWW, newspapers
books (& the ability for most to read & write) and plunge humanity
back into a new dark age, those who 'gossip' (or shout!) the loudest
will again become the dominent...but they will need (like always)
some 'ammunition' to bite on.

Take here for example...Redbourne...4 miles NW of St. Albans & 6
miles SW of Luton....I found the following article on a Google Book
search about 'The Hills of the Banners'

You may get more if you click here!

There is more here....
The City of the Silent
Another Essay
The Hills in question appear to be 2 what we would now call tumulli or
Barrows
now long lost...(perhaps under the M1 !) somewhere in
Redbourne, Hertfordshire, UK.
A very interesting 'story or vision' none the less
Perhaps there is an inane desire after all in all of us for the
‘romantic’ notion of dying for a purpose.
The danger is that 'Martyrdom' though, can be easily
used for political or religious gain by the unscrupulous!

It is arguable whether St. Alban was britains first so called Martyr,
(the first recorded maybe..but under the name of what god!)
they are everywhere and have always been, one way or 'tother'
He was, or simply had a good 'spin-doctor'.

"Spirituality without dogma"
Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

ps: your more likely to find Cows round St.Albans/Redbourne
than Sheep....'Mooow'

Yes you seem to understand the pointlessness of religion and its use only to climb social ladders, I am not religious nor do i preech religion to others or try to be dominate over others yet i feel there are people who do this and critisize others for their short comings their relationships with others when they should be looking at themselves I am not interested in bitching about other failed mariages or relationships because the ones that seem to do it are not very good at realtionships themselves or interacting with others without bitching about peoples life style I smoke I drink and i enjoy it its not good for me but i know that, and i dont need these puritans you speak off ramming it down my neck like they are holyier than now.live and let live or critsis and be critsised, if they cant take it tell em to stop giving it out simple.or let them hide behind their relgious superiority and carry on being superior. So lets not prey to the church of Bitch but all learn to get on without the hypocritical dharma crap.
hopefully one day we will be free from religion. This forum is for ranting and i thank you for that. its good to speak the truth and if people cant take it and they only feel hate then i say peace and love to them without being religious i can still love. Wink

If you just give people a bit of space they lighten up, and stop acting their role in life. He had a great mild sarcastic, dry humour. And worked at a much slower pace than me; my brain works very quickly. I mean ponderous historians! You know! It’s like they are flicking through their library manuals before they make a comment

Swearing & “LAMENT! for Diocletian's fiery sword” and more

Admin note: The reffered to post's in quotation marks below
were removed because they contained an overuse of expletives
and personal IP addresses.

Quote:
We all swear

It is not necessary to use expletives in such a way.

Eds note: common swear words that are used in postings are picked up
by internet ‘spiders’, ‘crawlers’ and suchlike and a high usage of such may
result in UK Decay Communities becoming ‘X Rated’ by browsers and
Internet search engines etc.
That means we are cutting ourselves off from the younger surfer and
the general-public on ‘content rated’ machines
Furthermore, this will attract increasing amounts of ‘porn bots’ posting
up links back to their dubious porn sites. We have a policy of trying to
avoid becoming unwittingly ‘enmeshed’ into this web.

The IP address was removed because although it is dynamic and changes
are made randomly to the last few digits every few minutes or so to say
your connection.
You have to consider that a service provider like NTL who has at least
thousands of subscribers will randomly rotate the permutations of those
last digits amongst their subscriber base. That means that particular
address will be yours one minute, next mans the next minute and so on
and so on until one day, lo and behold its yours again!
That may be sooner than you think!
The implications are that encouraging hacking any dynamic IP address's
is really not a good idea.

This may of course be total bullshit…. or it may not?

Take your point here, I have been pondering over ‘The Hills of the
Banners’
post from last night (it was ridiculously late here!)
This is not something that was ‘googled’ quickly, for the sake of argument,
it is a story that has fascinated and captured my imagination over the last
couple of weeks.

The title itself leaped out of a page of a book I was reading about the
Egyptian Pharaoh Akhnaten who lived nearly 3 and half thousand years
ago more to the point, the story was really about his daughter Princess
Scotia who fled Egypt following some sort of ‘coup de grace’. Eventually
she and her followers ended up in Ireland where she married into the
Irish line of kings, her subsequent tribe became known the ‘Scotia’.
Finally the descendents after thousand or so years of living in Ireland fled
for some reason and invaded the nearby land of the Picts, Scotland by
name is the legacy of this story.
The point of relevance was that ‘The Hills of the Banners’ was the
first recorded opening in the UK of a barrow and it was supposedly St.
Amphibalus who’s bones were found and taken to the nearby St. Albans
Abbey.
The ‘opening’ was both a gruesome and colourful event with hundreds
of villagers camping out and joining in a macarbre festive atmosphere
as the bones were brought out of their resting place.
Aldwyck towers is just 6 miles ATCF from Redbourne so it is ‘local history’
and I know a lot of folk are really not that interested in this subject
matter.

But Hell! This is the ‘Ranting & Raving’ dept so I will join in lol
Agent Frank, your mission is now changed, you can come home now.!

I did really intend to post up this as a new topic in the ‘Gothic’ forum as
there are some ‘dark’ undercurrents woven into this legend (and a lot of
mystery!)
It was another ‘guest’ (a lot of imagination in that name!) posted, William
Wordsworth's “LAMENT! for Diocletian's fiery sword” about St.
alban, which seemed to me such an odd synchronicity, that prompted me
to respond.

Given time for those who may be further interested in this topic I will
eventually post up further info in a proper placing in the ‘Gothic’ forum.

That’s my rant over with for now

One last thought…..
A friend is convinced the world is going to end on September 6th this
year, that is seven months if he is correct.
Just time enough to fulfil that once in a lifetime wish..that’s if if I could
remember what that was lol Laughing

Greetings.
Well, Google led me to you rather confusing but interesting site.
I notice some of you are interested in Spiritual matters and "ancient Britain" legends and the like.
Werewolf mentions the "end-times" as being very close. Indeed it may be!
Perhaps I might mention, as there is some dicussion of my Faith and others on your forum, that there are little known Prophesies of St. Bernadette of Lourdes. Famed for the Miracles that have been proven at that Holy place, and the record of the visions of the Saint, there is also recorded the vision of the calamities that may be due to occur quite soon.
The date of the start of these times was given as the year 2000, and ends with a description of the final events consuming Persia with fire. Of course in the late 1800's, Iran was known as Persia. St. Bernadette had no education to speak of and was consumed by chronic astma which had no treatment then. Her family were incredibly poor as they had lost the family mill, due to the ill-health and alchohol problems of the father. Her description of Persia's destruction should be seen in the light of Iran's preparations to "go nuclear" I do not need to explain the ramifications of such an event. The lid of Pandora's box will most definitely be off.
America will most certainly respond most massively in kind should She be faced with a "suitcase nuclear device" {they do exist, courtesy of the kgb}
or a "dirty bomb" of any scale. Maybe your friend has had a vision of just such events.
As for the discussion on your forum regards "Islamofacism" and the threat faced by the "West" ie. the lands of Christian heritage, I suggest you look up the history of the the battle at the gates of Vienna in 1683.
If this siege by Islamic forces had triumphed, then the whole of Europe would most certainly have fallen and our history would have been erased as always happens following Islam's conquests.
I take no politcal stand on these matters, being too old to do much more than look to my own spiritual insufficiencies.
It is true, I believe, that our youth of today is largely unprepared for what is happening around them, being deceived and consumed with the passions of materiality. This is of course described in our own Holy Texts.
Perhaps there is no answer, I do not have the pretence of prophesy and being of relgious inclination does not afford me any greater clarity of vision of the future.
I urge you to look beyond the mere garb and dress of your inherited religious background, (I assume) it is too easy to dismiss the great heritage given by providence of birth because of noisesome reports of the wrong doing and sin of some clergy and the clamour of specific sexual-oriented groups to usurp the English Church.
The needs of the young are for a clarrion call to reclaim their Spiritual Nature before it may be too late.
Self indulgence and the gratification of the Senses is a oneway street that I have been down and thankfully, I was led away too my path of Contemplation.
Such path is not for everyone, but to study the History of the Church from the Spiritual aspect, from the Legends of Glastonbury to the life of Saint Alban and onwards to the Saints of modern times "beatified" or not, may bring solace and understanding to the troubled mind. It may also bring comfort to the soul, to learn of the same struggle us humans must endure in this journey through this World.
You are right that spirituality can be free of dogma, but Man and Womankind are lost without a map for this journey, select your atlas carefully, study the lives of the Saints, you will not be disapointed, be prepared to stake your all for the protection of your freedoms and rights, I wish you all fair travel in your young lives and may you be protected by the mercy of our Creator as you sail into the stormy waters of this Century.
