on the In Excelsis discography page of Deathrock.com they lists a peel session and even includes a few hints as if it was released. i've never seen it or heard of anyone having it. does anyone know of anything existing outside of the 4 proper vinyl releases?

Hey yes there sure was a 'Peel' session with Mark Bond and Errol Blythe
sitting in on the session with the great 'Peel' as it was broadcasted!
suppose the Beeb must have the tapes!
There are rumours of bootlegs and a few tracks on compilation albums
including a DVD that came out on Cherry Red earlier this year with a
live version of 'Vows'..cant remember what its called at the mo!!
anyway, nice to see you here mate!

hi there
well there definitely is an in excelsis peel session , i've got a rough tape of it i recorded at the time. it never got issued as a 12" though , just a radio broadcast that has probably done the rounds on tape.
interesting thing about that session is that it has the full version of "vows" (maybe 6 minutes or so) rather than the far shorter version on the first 12" which is really just the introduction. to me this was probably their best track (along with "fire" i guess). worth tracking down.
i just did a furyo piece which has just gone on-line , hope you like it. next project is to do the proper furyo and in excelsis discographies (not a huge task) and then i'll try to do an in excelsis history like the furyo one. bear with me on this.....

great. thanks for all the welcome info. i took me years to find the In Excelsis sword 12" i suspect it will take less to hear the peel sessions.
i love this band. definitely too short lived. looking forward to the piece on the band. especially if anything else happened after the break up? |

in excelsis records do come up on ebay from time to time. also i think jungle still have the following in stock ;
In Excelsis - Carnival Of Damocles (Jungle) - 12" (tatty) JUNG 009 £4.00
In Excelsis - Ladder Of Lust (Jungle) - 12" (tatty) JUNG 013 £4.00
In Excelsis - Prey (Jungle) - LP FREUD 008 £7.75
http://www.jungle-records.demon.co.uk/jungleshop/page9.htm
