no further than Apply The Breaks’ first event of 2005.
Saturday, February 5 will see us take the breakbeat sound to
our swanky new venue, Luton’s 450 capacity Royal Hotel, just
100 metres from the main train station.
Special guests: The one and only SLIPMATT representing the
veterans with an oldskool and nu-skool set and West London trio
THE BREAKFASTAZ representing the up-and-coming producers with
some of their latest sounds being slammed by the likes of The
Freestylers and Freq Nasty to name but a few.
Also scratch supremos THE DRUNKEN ALLSTARS will be in action
for a five-deck stageshow while the Apply The Breaks residents
Mack The Knife, C Smoove, Rob Focuz and Daddy Fingaz will be
warming up proceedings.
8k of Funktion One sound and intelligent lighting will be laid
on by Sub Zero (Helter Skelter) and hosts for the evening are
Hypeman, Krafty and KID.
All runs from 10pm til 3am and there’s also CD giveaways,
Raindance tickets on sale on the night and probably loads of
other stuff that we haven’t even arranged yet.
The main action will take place in the building’s main ballroom
which is due to be transformed for a night of unadulterated
breakbeat bliss, but there’s also a stylish chill out bar on
hand with leather sofas, plasma screens and posh Thai fittings
if you want to ease back.
Advance tix are a measly £7 or £10 on the door.
