Jay

You are a gay disco diva. While all that punk-disco contra was going on those of us who found it sarted stepping to creation and crossed over into dub reggae. What bliss...King Tubbys, Prince Jammys, Scientist-First, Second, Third Generation of Dub. Full reverb, sound system clash. Talking to the Mad Professor in Queensway Hall. Jo Gibbs and Linval Thompson...I'm still listening.

KEEP IT STEADY.

Well, it's like this,
as it happens, there are more than one of me, officially and otherwise. One of them is indeed what you might call a disco diva, but, though i'm sure it will destroy your fantasies, happily not gay.
Anyway, Dub is very cool. Prince Fari is heavy, heavy, heavy.
Oh yes you old tart,i almost forgot, You're a rude boy who always was a little too light on his feet for my liking dearie. Did you go tiptoeing through the bluebells this spring with some strapping young man, or was that just a rumour ?

Bit quiet this one, so in place of any other postings i'll do another.
Other stuff i have recently bought is 'Mariza' new LP, Transparente - portugese Creole sung beautifully, bit like Evoria Cesara, float away baby.....and Marc Almonds DVD of his show last year at the Almeida theatre, lots of Russian Torch songs etc. excellent. And Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers box set. That's a voice and a half. And The Datsuns, rock on. Speaking of which, The White Stripes doing 'Jolene' at Glastonbury, that was mighty stuff......x

The Pork Dukes were a joke outfit made up by ex members of steely dan or steeleye span, whilst bored , and recorded as a joke at what is now the Linford Manor recording studio's in Milton Keynes. They couldn't believe it was taken (semi) seriously. I still have some postcards they printed from a fictitious tour, of a pig in red wellington boots ! makin' bacon ? Makin' money actually ! J x.
