				Registered users only...please read

Owing to the increase in the amount of Spam posters

it has become neccesary to lock down the Forums..to registered

members only!!

Hopefully only temporally but the situation is becoming out of hand

30 or 40 spams a day is no joke to continually remove!

So onlinee Cassinoo Pookr Veeagra Phentareaminea etc..F**Ck OFF!

You are trully vermin and we do not want you here!!

In fact they are Bots that are doing it supllied by a company that makes

money out of selling software to dodgy websites in order to propegate

links back to their websites so they obtain a higher 'Google-Ranking'

If anyone has any idea of how we can go about putting a stop to this

so we can open up the Forums again to all, please please let us know!!

Either 'Post reply' below or 'PM' me if you have an answer

If we were to let this continue and not continually delete these 'Bot

Posts', this website would within days become absolutely swamped with

this vermin!!

Bogey -posters

Also given the current climate, there is an individual out there who

for his (*or her) own sad reason insists on posting up highly contentious

posts under various 'guest- nom-de-plumbs', admitedlly mainly in the

'Ranting' thread..well if you wish to continue to spread your brand of

'Evangelistical_Islamaphobia' I suggest you take your insanity to the

BBC or Daily newspaper sites it is not welcome here!

Go see a Doctor for f*cks sake ! We all have our views on these

matters but here is not the place unless of course you would like to

register (with your email address-so you are answerable)

UK Decay Communities now on US server

The UK Decay Communities website this week has undergone a

server change. SDZ has now moved us to a larger server that he

has set up in the USA. The new server has a much improved

Streeming and bandwidth capabilities and it should be a lot slicker

for our american cousins to access, whilst retaining its excellent

service to the UK and Europe.

We would again like to thank 'SDZ' and his team for all their hard

work in bringing this resource to you !!

New Stuff

There will be some more stuff up in the galleries over the next few

days, including an interview with Abbo for the 'Grim Humour' fanzine

(1983) and some new pics of the recent party.

Finally

Ok thats it for now except to mention that we havn't forgotton about

the mission to get UK Decay out on CD !

It is proving difficult but it has got to happen in 2006!

So please watch this space!

Not before time. It costs nothing to register, doesn't take too long to do it and will help this invaluable site exist longer. |

Do you keep getting emails saying someone has replied to your post,

but when you log in there is nothing there?

It’s those dreaded SPAM adverts!

This is what we think is happening...

(this website is at WAR with Spammers/Spambots/bogusmembers!)

The moderators are removing these bogus replies/posts ads as they

are posted up ! Unfortunately and this has only just occurred to us!

anyone who is 'watching' a topic gets an email to say their

'watched topic' has had a reply....in the meantime the moderators,

remove the 'spam' post! Walla! you keep logging in and seeing nought!

And it probably happens to a lot of you!

We can only apologise about this problem as the forum administration

is an automated service and it is functioned like this for good reasons,

however it cannot define the difference between ‘spam’ and ‘legit’

members

The Moderators are doing a splendid job keeping these forums trimmed

and ‘clean’ from spammers, if left alone, the forums would simply get

‘overun’ with ads to dubious websites!……WEEDS!

Like a garden needs continual weeding, the website needs continual

 pruning !

Recently the forum posting permissions were restricted to signed up

members only...it cut down on some of the 'Spammers'...but they

cottoned on and the rate of 'bogus members' increased....because we

believe in an open policy for 'reasonable and free speech' on the forums,

and the fact that for various reasons (eg users who use their work

internet access) some users cannot open up accounts we have now

re-opened most of the forums for members and non-members to post.

This situation will be kept under close review and may be subject to

change from day to day with random forums becoming ‘restricted to

members only’ for periods.

Any thoughts/ideas? It would be interesting to know if there is an easier

 solution to these problems.

				Why not use "word verification?"

This usually defeats spambots.

Great site, I'm a fan of Bauhaus and usual punk suspects and also have older sibling into UKDecay.

Funny looking at the gallery, I have met abbo at a promo. Seems a nice guy.

How many of Decay are there still alive?

I heard about the drummer Steve and Segovia. Such a shame. Didn't the Captain pass away recently as well? What happened to Gaynor, my brother knew her brother when they were rockers.

Anyways try the word verification, hope it works ok. |

				Hi Silvia thanks for that

The forum administration only has this option which is enabled!

"Enable Visual Confirmation

Requires users enter a code defined by an image when registering"

It has helped cut the numbers but there are still a significant number

getting round it...I can only think by 'manually registering'..they must be

keen! because it takes slightly less time to 'delete' them!

But they are a f*****g nuisance!

Spon, Abbo, Eddie, Martin and the good ole Captain are all still with us!

Sadly Steve Harle passed away in 1995.

Gaynor was living in Cardif last we heard, not sure about her brother tho.

Thanks very much again for the tip

W.W

You want to promote your goods in the net? Maybe you've already try to promote your site or goods in the net? Don't you?

Maybe you've even register yourself at forums and post your messages trying to attract clients and visitors! And much to your surprise it works!

Yes, that works! Forums are the visited sites in the internet!

Do you want to know why?

1. There are a lot of people chatting on forums - potential clients and visitors!

2. They are thematic!

3. Forums are good enough to be indexed by search systems and always have good audience!

4. They improve index quotation and amend positions in search systems.

5. Link ranging: 1000 links from forums allow the site to be on top five in the results of search systems.

6. Select audience: your every advertisement will be read by for about 25-50 people.

Try to imagine, that you can be advertise on several thousand forums!

Now it is possible! You can promote your site, goods, service several times faster due to our unique service!!!

We can send out your advertisement on thousand forums! Our mass posting on forums - your half the battle in the Internet!

After the posting all clients recieve full account about message postings on forums!

And, the story is not complete!

Try to imagine how your index quotation will rise up!

Moreover we can send out your advertisement with pseudotags, it means, that incoming links on your site could be with the words necessary to you!!!

It is a miracle, that will attract a lot of users, buyers and clients on your site!

So, what would you get, ordering mailing on forums?

1. Mass mailing on thousands of forums, in sections, where you wouldn't be deleted for flood.

We are posting only in that sections, where administrators allow to post advertisements

(For example: Advertisement, Buying, Selling, Flood, Offtopic, etc.)

2. Inflow of attendance from forums! Momentary effect guaranteed, because forums are always full of visitors!

3. Your index quotation rising and profitable position in search systems!

4. Ability to set necessary words in incoming links to your site

It means the best positioning in search systems by necessary keywords!

5. Inflow of attendance from search systems!

6. New site visitors, potential buyers and customers.

Are you still thinking?

And your business rivals aren't sleeping, they are promoting their goods!

They get visitors on the site, customers and great profit fantastical profits!

I and my moderators remove, DELETE, ERASE... ANY post's or 'Goof'

members that contains in-appropriate 'link' content immediately. Usually

before the post has achieved more than 3 or 4 ‘views’
