Cool story. Thanks =)
I've been searching for info on this band as I know very little about them. I only first heard a song by them last summer when I got the Profane Existence 15 Year Anniversary CD that came with the 15 Year Anniversay issue of Profane Existence zine that I bought at a Behind Enemy Lines show. Thought "Poll Tax" a fantastic song (tied for my fave on that compilation) loved Karma Sutra's sound and wanted more! Found a little info, not much, and mp3's, but I'd love to have a good quality Daydreams of a Production Line Worker CD.
But yes, would be wonderful. Come on... someone... Make this happen. Please... _________________ ~your.slavish.little.conscience.gone.underground~

Wayne Sturgeon was Karma's drummer up till just after the album was completed, and was a good friend of mine. He was living in a flat off Ashburnam Rd, and I recall that he was rather lonesome, melancholy character, very intelligent and a little unbalanced. Apparently whilst down the Arndale with some of the other anarchos they encountered some religious wierdies and Wayne went over to take the mickey.... and ended up talking to them for some time.
He came round to see me in the house I shared in Broadmead and told me that he'd "found Jesus" and of course I thought he was joking, but it quickly dawned on me that he'd done a mental flip (I often think I should have expected something like this) from this encounter, must have caught him in a particularly vulnerable state. I had a long talk and tried to reason with him, especially since he now seemed to believe the Karma album to be "the work of the devil" and wanted them to abandon it. I at least managed to convince him to let that go. He left Luton and rumours were that he'd joined the Jesus Army or some other cult, or become a monk, He did recover much of his old self, though, and got back in touch with me a few years later. He'd changed his name to Wayne-John, and considered himself a "Christian-Anarchist". We did lose touch again, which is a shame because he remains a dear friend. Karma never had a better drummer, even though they borrowed Dan from the Chumbas for their foreign tour. _________________ I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve immortality by not dying.

Haven't got the slightest idea, but according to the National Archives for Bedfordshire there was:
Quote: | Campaign against Nuclear Industry Radioactive Waste Executive (NIREX) dump at Elstow 1984-1987 (PI/Nix) |
so it'd be sometime between those years. _________________ --
