More UK Decay video Footage
Recently some rare video footage has been sent in by one of our
Forum users (won't mention their name at this point!)
Originally on VHS it has now been transfered to DVD
The material consists of UK Decay live at Friars Ayelsbury (supporting-
Killing Joke) , Decay live at Dingwalls, Camden Town (Rare footage of
Lorraine Turvey on bass guitar), 'Yukey Dukey' live and undead in
Berlin (again with rare footage of Lorraine Turvey on bass) and the
'infamous' Luton Carnival gig of 1982 (a fascinating and compelling peice
of footage -with 'All-Hell' breaking loose!)
The material is of varying quality but there is some terrific moments
in there!
Furthermore, there is a whisper and we are keeping our fingers
crossed here, of another gig captured on film!
In this case the film has been submitted to a tape restoration specialist
and we are awaiting the results!
The film, if it turns out ok, is of a gig at the Stevenage, Bowes Lyon
not sure which one! fingers well crossed on this one!
We tried to capture some stills but the usuall method did'nt work
so we used our little webcam and took some stills with that...
hence the grainy quality
UK Decay with Lol on bass and Abbo with his famous 'werewolf' mask
the venue was the 'Music Hall' Berlin, early 1981
Lol in the shadows!
Abbo on form! The above shots were taken from the early 1981 Dingwalls video
The 'infamous' Luton Carnival gig of 1982, 'you have never seen anything
like this before'! Film shot by Graham Bentley in May 1982
It's looking more plausable that a DVD could possibly be on the horizon!
Many thanks to the users who submitted this!
We will of course keep you imformed on any developements regarding
the Video footage.

I have a tape which seems to have all of that on, but there's this weird mix of a song included, which starts with piano, with the tape slowing at times and quite awful picture quality in places, but it shows Abbo (in a white top) whirling his belt above his head, and Spon is wearing a light blue tshirt? Plus some backstage footage? So that means at least one other gig was filmed. _________________ You may not like me now, but you smell. |

As told to Spon, i was in that film , which was embarassing , showing me running after someone with my belt, shame as i was a witness for Jimmy who got nicked, and the film was to be shown in court. I'd love to see that again, if a copy should be available. I'll watch this space....x |

i think the bit of film mick is referring to is a sort of "montage" put together by graham bentley using bits from various gigs. the piano track is "dorian" off the "madmen" lp. this clip uses tracks off the records not the live sound from the filmed gigs. the stills on the inside sleeve of "sexual" are from this video.
at a guess , it may well have been too poor quality to transfer to a DVD?

I was apparently filmed from a few different angkes getting my head kicked in. It would be quite strange to see that! |

That has to go on DVD! Somewhere in there there is a bloke waving his t-shirt around his head (as I didn't have a bullet belt....)
That idiot was me!!
At least I got a lift home in a police van......

the trouble at the carnival was brewing for several hours. If i remember correctly the trendy hatters fans didn't have a game that day and thought they would come down and provoke the punks ( especially outsiders). I was on the left hand side of the stage and allsorts were being thrown about, several of the OMM were arrested. We stayed in town awaiting there release and ended up in a pub which unknown to us was a local for hatters fans so it all kicked off again inside the pub (pool cues, glasses, bottles etc) I think they got more than they bargained for!!!! |
