Does anyone have any Statics photos that they could post? Also, is anyone in touch with Lol still? |

Thanks to my old mate Mark Cottle, I now have a copy of The Statics tape (as well as a mint copy of "The Voxhall Tracks"). It is magnificent! |

I thought the statix were very good and electric city seemed destined to be a single in one way or another.
There were certainly a lot worst bands in the UK that got signed.
I was dispointed that they did not appear on the vauxhall tracks but that EP was not really a good advert for Luton - War machine was ok but the clips were aweful and the frictions sid vicious rant sounded so contrived.
The Jets single on good vibrations was very good
UK Decay developed into a top band but I think the statics were the next best thing |

'Words' Dunstable Queensway Flyer, with the Statics
Click for Gallery view
Anyone remember Barry Clarke?!
He was the man charged with promoting many of the gigs at the
Queensway Hall, Dunstable. He also promoted at the St. Albans Civic
Hall and the Hemel Hempstead Pavillion. He was a very important man in
this neck of the woods for live entertainment whether punk, or in fact most
musical tastes. To his credit he did occasionally aspire to put on local
music as this flyer testifies!
In this case one of luton's finest Punk bands had the pleasure of playing
alongside Art Nouveau, English Dream, Bonnie Parker and Kindergarten,
in a bash titled 'EXTRAVAGANZA VI'.
At the bottom of the ticket, the words TO BE RETAINED are spelt out,
which is obviously why we can now, 25 years later, view it!
Of course Art Nouveau from Leighton Buzzard shortly after this event,
went on to change their name to Kajagoogoo, the rest is history!
What should have been for The Statics!
Anyone got any memories of this Extravaganza?
Thanks again Graham for sharing!

I seem to remember being in charge of a large bag of carrots, with which we had been instructed to bombard Art NouKajagoo with. Reason not remembered. _________________ Just another leather jacket
