It's Phil Keefe not Phill Keef!
Yes I played bass with that very band... Haaven't seen Johnny G for a long time, and did see Ray Philpot here in Crystal Palace (that's my current residence) a few years back. Strangely he was living nearby and was playing in a band with John... |

Getting pissed on the ferry en route to Paris!
Tibor, Johnny G and myself relaxing before the gig in Paris... I recall Tibor got so relaxed he slept through both sets later that night.
After the gig when we spent the rest of the night trying to find a quiet street corner to sleep (no fun in late December) before catching a coach back to the coast... ferry to the UK and then blagging a train and hitching from London up the M1. Home in time for New Years eve...

BTW we did record a demo in a studio in Sidcup... Spon produced for us and I even have a cassette of it somewhere. Pat Keating had the master and so I guess it's in Eire with him... if I ever get a working casette deck I'll make a copy available. |

The 'ferry' foto above - next to Nick Stewart is Dave Smith, next to him is Chris Russell (still living in Luton)
Couldn't get to Paris myself......

Passchendaele, 'Punk Lives' 'Young Blood'
(copied from 'News')

Cheers to the Fanzine people and Fish for sending this scan of a 'Punk Lives'
article in their Young Blood series.
Interestingly written by Richard North and speaks of recordings that sadly
as far as I am aware never made the light of day.
Passchendaele, a Luton band with great promise who flourished between
1983 and 1985 had a great sound, a great shame they did'nt get any further!
Johnny G later went on to form The Party Girls. Paul Mitchel the vocalist
in the photo was previously in another legendary Luton band, The Statics.
Darren the drummer later became a DJ of distinction.
Phill the bassist later moved into internet gaming websites.
Pat Keating the keyboardist became part of the great Luton exodus to
Ireland of the late eighties and has never been seen since! at least not
in Luton.
Later, Nick Stewart replaced Paul on vocals, the band later somewhere
around 1985, unfortunately played their last gig.
