Greetings seekers of the Cottle. Dealing with each reply in turn:
Hi Werewolf- this sounds like it could well be in character, though it could have happened to any of us at the time (assuming we were able to mount a bicycle in the first place);
Hi Neil. How ya doin buddy. He may well have done, though I'm not from Luton so I wouldn't know.
Hello Guest. I guess that means your not him? Think he would remember said record since he nearly wore it out on the Barr family radiogram the morning after! Cannot yet reveal correct answers, so try not to give them away o ye imposters of the True Cottle!
Howdy other guest. Yeah Baby Yeah!!! He sure-istically played groove-alicious sax in the glory days of the Statics. |

Mark cottle is on the far right!:: view larger image
Having his head scratched!
other folk here.....
Carol "Splodge" left front
Lyndsey middle bottom, scratching
Mark Cottle's head and some
Stevenage crew at the back.
I think that blond guy in the middle
may be Simon from 'Chron Gen'
and according to Denis Daly;
Far Left Pete Dimmock (Chron Gen/Chelsea) Next Geoff Sewell (Chelsea) Simon Herd & Steve Pettit.;

Isn't he a manager in the Aylesbury Comet store, nowadays?
Always thought he'd go far. Not.

4) yes I did fall of me bike after the carnival.
Hi Everyone
The quest for the cottle is over
Still working for 60p an hour Rodger, never mind I'me still the man in the crowd with a birthday.
Yes cottle imposter I did go far but not far enough some might say - Currently living in Brisbane Australia
Still playing sax
still cooking
still getting pissed though this aussi stuff is shit - really miss an abbot and eddie but it never did much for me balance.
Just found this site and it certainly rolls back the years. Lost touch with everyone when I moved from Luton circa 89 and was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the deaths of Steve and Dave. I can still see them in my head like it was yesterday. As long as we remember they will never truly be gone. |

Welcome Mark Cottle!
The 22-month search for you is now over.
Great to see that you are alive, kicking and still playing the sax!
There are some more Statix photos on the way around thanks to another
Ex-Statix member, we hope they might be posted around xmas time.
It’s a shame that you are to far away to make the ‘UK Decay’ re-union
Do at the Cork & Bull (formally the Grapevine) on the 22nd December.
But now that you are in touch with us here we can keep in touch on future
events.
You are now in Brisbane but please tell us about how you got there, did you
Get ‘fed-up’ with Blighty or Luton…actually you moved out of Luton pretty
Early to Peterborough or somewhere like that if I am not mistaken.
All our lost friends,,,it is sad, Steve was your best man at your wedding…
It was a great loss to us all, as was Dave Barr and others too.
That’s one reason why we have this website we knew we would catch up again
One day…take good care and keep in touch!

My brother, some of you will remember his as Olly or Green Bean, met up with said Cottle on Saturday somewhere in Australia. Apparently he's still as load and obnoxious as ever! Will post some photos here when received. |
